๐ฌ Single-Cell Organisms โ The Tiny Life Forms
๐งซ What is a single-cell organism?
A single-cell organism is a living thing made of just one cell.
๐ That one tiny cell does everything:
- Eats ๐ฝ๏ธ
- Grows ๐ฑ
- Moves ๐ถ
- Reproduces ๐ถ
Even though they are tiny, they are alive!
๐ฆ Examples of single-cell organisms
Some common ones are:
- Bacteria
- Amoeba
- Paramecium
- Yeast
๐ Most are so small that we can see them only with a microscope.
๐ When did they appear?
- Single-cell organisms appeared about 3.5 billion years ago.
- At that time, there were no plants, animals, or humans.
They were the first living things on Earth ๐
โณ How long did they rule the Earth?
๐ง This is amazing!
- Single-cell organisms ruled the Earth for about
3 billion years ๐ฆ ๐ - During that time, they were the only life forms on the planet.
๐ Humans have been around for only about 300,000 years โ very short compared to them!
๐ฑ Why are they important?
Single-cell organisms:
- Made oxygen in the air ๐ฌ๏ธ
- Helped form soil
- Are the ancestors of all plants and animals (including us!)
๐ง Easy to remember
Before plants and animals, tiny single cells were the kings of Earth ๐๐ฆ

โญ Fun facts for kids
